I am Judith Blake RN, BSN your School Nurse. I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree in 1980. I am celebrating the 41st year of my nursing career. I have broad experiences in the field of nursing here in the USA and abroad.
I joined Carrollton –Farmers Branch ISD in 2001 as a school nurse. This is my 20th year. I started off sharing schools between Stark, Tom Landry, Farmers Branch, Rosemeade and Blanton Elementary. Kent Elementary has been my home school since 2004 and I was assigned full time in 2018. With all the schools I have been at and hundreds of children I've cared for - the sick ones and the well ones – I’ve discovered the purest joy that anyone can experience is through the eyes of a child and their innocence.
I am an active member of the National School Nurses Association, the Texas School Nurses Association, the Philippine Nurses Association of America and the Medical Reserve Corp Volunteer in Dallas, Texas. I also volunteered with the D-Tag Program Metrocrest Medical – assisting a dermatologist with free laser removal of tattoos benefiting students who wanted to join the military or leaving a gang. I am also an active board member of the Philippine Community Center International, a charity organization in Dallas, TX and also at my local church.
I have been married to Marvin since 1988 we have 2 young adult children Laurence and Larce.
“Our goal as a School Nurse is to promote a safe and healthy community in which the students will be encouraged to become life- long learners, self-managers and self-advocates for health, education and other issues”.
