Overview: Students selected for Art Studio will learn about famous artist, critique and create traditional and digital art. They will draw, paint, sculpt and have artwork displayed through the year. Students also collaborate with other CFB schools to celebrate Big Art Day in March by taking part in a postcard exchange and painting rocks for an installation.
Why tryout? Art Studio gives students a chance to develop artistic skills, express themselves, and build confidence in a creative setting. They learn to think critically, solve problems, and work together on fun group projects. It’s also a great way to make friends and be part of a supportive, creative community.

Overview: The Cardinal Players is a theatre ensemble for fourth and fifth grade students who love performing on stage. Each person selected for the ensemble will experience a variety of performances that may include scenes, short plays, videos and puppetry. This ensemble meets all year long (Sept. - May). We will perform in March and in the spring ensemble showcase. Your attendance is required at these evening performances. Other opportunities for performance may arise throughout the year.
Why audition? Theatre helps students build confidence, improve public speaking, and express creativity through acting. It teaches teamwork, responsibility, and communication—all in a fun, supportive environment. Plus, performing on stage is an exciting way to make new friends and grow as a performer!

Overview: Kentatonix is a music ensemble for fourth and fifth grade students who love singing and performing with musical instruments. Each person selected for the ensemble will perform a variety of musical pieces. This ensemble meets all year long (September - May). We will be performing in the Fall Showcase in December and the Spring Showcase in May. Other opportunities for performance may arise throughout the year.
Why audition? Joining a music after-school ensemble lets students develop their musical skills, build teamwork, and gain confidence. It’s a fun way to improve discipline, listen and collaborate with others, and make lasting friendships—all while enjoying the joy of making music together.

Overview: Momentum Dance Company is a modern dance company for 4th and 5th grade students who have a passion for dance and a love for performing. Momentum performs at various events throughout CFBISD and the local community.
Why audition? Momentum Dance Company helps students build confidence, coordination, and teamwork skills. It’s a fun way to stay active, express creativity through movement, and perform with others who share a love for dance. Plus, it builds discipline and stage presence—all in an encouraging environment.

Overview: Students selected for the Kent Robotics Club will learn how to design, build, and program a robot to complete specific challenges using VEX IQ. In December and January students will participate in district level competitions, where students can showcase their hard work and compete with teams from other schools.
Why tryout? Robotics Club lets students explore technology, engineering, and problem-solving in a fun, hands-on way. They learn to build, code, and work as a team while developing critical thinking and creativity. It’s a great way to spark interest in STEM and build skills for the future!

Overview: Our Student Council makes a BIG impact in our school community! These young leaders, elected by their peers, are dedicated to helping teachers and classmates by setting a positive example and supporting important school initiatives.
Why join? Running for Student Council is a great way to make a difference at your school! From organizing food drives to helping with school events, you’ll get to do things that make your school a better place for everyone. You’ll practice important skills like public speaking, teamwork, and planning—skills that will help you all through school and beyond! As a Student Council member, other students will look up to you. It’s a great chance to set a good example by being respectful, responsible, and kind.
